Greetings!
We are looking forward to seeing those of you who can join us this Sunday at 10:00 for discussion and practice of the dharma. We will also be celebrating the Full Moon at 7:00 on Sunday evening. Please join us for one, or both, events if you can.
Sunday, 2/5: 10am Weekly Meditation & Discussion (Registration here)
Jean H. will continue the discussion and practice of sila (ethical conduct) started by Alex M. a few weeks ago. We will focus on wise (or "right") speech -- the practice of speaking skillfully so as not to cause harm. This is both an internal and an external practice and features prominently in Buddhism. It is one of the path factors in the Eightfold Path as well as one of the Five Precepts or ethical trainings for lay practitioners. In a world seemingly full of hateful and harmful speech, the practice of wise speech seems even more important than ever. We hope you can join us for an exploration of this practice.
7pm: Full Moon Gathering (Registration here)
Jane R. (with assistance from Jean H.) will lead the monthly Full Moon gathering. This month we'll be reflecting on how our practice supports us in doing the best we can, without judging ourselves. And, when we lose our way, remembering to gently encourage ourselves to start again, seeing each moment as a new opportunity. We will spend time in discussion, reflection, and practice (both still and moving).
Alex Haley Teaching Nine Bodies Insight Daylong Retreat 2/18Alex Haley will be teaching a Nine Bodies Insight daylong retreat on February 18th appropriate for both new and continuing students. You can find more information and registration here. This event is hosted by Dharma Ground.
